With his crisp logic Holmes puts together all the clues to come to the answer that solves a murder or burglary and gives him the advantage over any criminal. He confesses life bores him except for these problems that afford him excitement as he searches for solutions. When he has no detective work to occupy him he plays the violin and takes cocaine to free his mind and practices boxing and smokes his well-cared-for pipe. Then a mysterious crime catches his interest again, and he's on track to unriddling another case.
